Early blog today. We rounded Cape York at 0900hrs today. The last 40-50 miles up the Coral Coast was interesting. Lots of ships. At one point we had 3 ships approaching in the dark includind HMAS Launceston which was overtaking another ship all in a fairly narrow channel. Luckily I had replaced a blown bulb in our forward nav lights just an hour before. Spoke to the navy - very proper, even addressed me as "Sir". The rounding was straight forward - don't know why I was concerned. Scooting along hitting 12.2kts across the ground with a through water speed of 7.1kts - quite a current - which is why I was keen to get around when we did. Now nearly no wind, motor sailing with 3 kts of current and heading across the Anafura Sea towards Darwin.Only 731nm to go.
