September 3 approx 1700hrs localtime
 
Todays position is where I expect we willbe at 1700hrs local time. I will be on watch so I am sending this early.
Progressing to plan, maintaining a touch over 7kts. A little further south than planned, but there is a lot of east in the wind, and that is where it is taking us. We will gybe in time, and get back on course.
Climbed to the top of the mast this AM to fix the windex dammaged by a booby bird a few nights ago. Not a place for the faint hearted out at sea. Fortunately the windex was easy to straighten, and I was down again.
Distance to Cairns at 1700hrs:- 619nm
