Denia to Puerto de Santa Pola

TRIP 106nm

Finally we are off and motor in calm conditions to Santa Pola, a small (in comparison to Benidorm) resort. The marina is pleasant and modern, shops on our doorstep and a great fish market. However a problem has frustratingly emerged with the engine in higher revs… clouds of black smoke belch out – not unlike the wightlink cat! (well not quite so dramatic) but enough to call out the engineers who decide that the turbo needs replacing.. and duly leaves with a large coil of exhaust pipe coiled over his shoulder like a cobra. To give them credit, a new part is fitted and we are ready to go again. In the meantime the reason we had originally wanted to stop here was to get the watermaker serviced and now it can knock out an impressive 25lt an hour. The water soft and tastes good.

Meanwhile we are beginning to pile on the provisions.
