Good Morning,
We just picked up anchor and are heading for Gloucester. Two porpoise
came out to say good bye. : )
Yesterday's sail was great. We had wonderful wind and made great
time. Going through the Cape Cod Canal was fun. The current pushed
us along at record 10.7 knots! It was a very scenic ride with many people
fishing, sunning, biking and walking along both shores. Coming
across the bay, we set the sails to wing-on-wing and George and Tom put the pole
on. It worked quite easily and we soared to Provincetown. No whales
or porpoise.
While taking down the sails as we approached the harbor, the
winds picked up to 25 knots and the seas became very choppy. It was quite
a struggle to tie off the mooring ball. But all went well and we were
settled for the evening.
We took the dinghy in to town for dinner. What a
town! Galleries, shops, and more galleries. We had a great
dinner at the Lobster Pot, the raw oysters were the best we have ever had.
Cindra and I went back to the dinghy while George and Tom went on a
mission looking for beer and k-cups. They came back with the beer, but the
k-cups had the locals baffled...the boys got strange looks when they
inquired. No Kerigs in Provincetown. We will have to ration the
coffee.
More adventures today.
