British Soldier - TransAtlantic Race -Sitrep no 5

Saturday 2 July, 1100hrs Z. Position: 43deg 48N, 53deg 57 W - about 170 NM
due S of the SE tip of Newfoundland.

NSTR - nothing significant to report! Pretty flat conditions, light winds
for the past 24hrs and making about 5kts to the NE (broadly on the great
circle route). We're about 50 NM from the Grand Banks.

For a crew of tea drinkers (we started the race with 720 tea bags) we've
made the calculation that we don't have enough gas to brew as much tea as we
would like, as well as cook dinner. So a major rationing to just 2 brews a
day, from 2 brews per watch! Ouch. Other than that, all is well and
spirits remain high.

We have no idea where the other yachts are, but suspect Carina is to the
east and probably opening up the lead as they're to the east of the
slow-moving occluded front and likely to have a bit more breeze. Any
indicators (range and bearing) much appreciated. And who is in the
Wimbledon final?
