We are now settled into our routine. Yesterday afternoon we went onto the starboard gybe with the foresail poled out and are upto downwind speed. We hope to leave this alone now for anything upto a week or two.

Dinner yesterday was an excellent coq au vin (easier to spell than beef bourg.........) with rice - thanks Marwyn.

Last night there was a fair bit of traffic as we had three or four commercial vessels during the night and we have started to catch up with and overtake the back markers in the ARC. This morning Patrick spoke to one very close by on the handheld - Matilda.

In straight line distances we have now covered some 469 miles and have around 2366 miles to go.

So far discipline on board has been good with the skipper having no need to rig the very excellent plank we carry - however the threat remains!

The girls are both full members of the watch-keeping rota which makes for a much easier ride than last time - essentially 4 hrs on and 8 hrs off - luxury.
