I think one of the reasons this trip has lasted so long, is that I, in my old age, enjoys the sailing part of  this, less & less. I tend to plan to take advantage of the winds so that I am usually well placed for a reach or a downwind run. Probably 90% of this trip has been on a reach. Saying this, I know I've sailed many more miles than neccesary, but it's been more comfortable. I won't be able to play around much longer, as I'm in the North Atlantic now & winter with its vicious gales are here. So a bit of a blow tonight & I'll be only about 20 deg off course. But I can then get on a good course for the coast about 100 miles away. Regards to all.
