July 16th.  Sailing frenzy day 4.  8.5 hours, 65 miles.  Perfect wind.  Again.

Picture 1 - Harmonie passing Whisper HR. ....Not that we were racing again - just that we happened to be going faster than they were.

When we arrived in Margaret Bay, just around the corner from Cape Grenville, we were greeted by two things; another one of the now familiar Aussie prawn trawlers whose crew was preparing for a working night, and our very first crocodile.  In the flesh.  The giant croc was lolling on the sand beach with its jaws wide open.  Waiting for dinner?  We weren't sure, but he sat there like that for a couple of hours before disappearing.  It wasn't until he disappeared that we worried.  Sorry, no pictures - the croc was too far away for the camera (got a good glimpse of him through the binoculars though) and we didn't feel compelled to take the dinghy to shore for a closer look.  However, we did bravely hop into the dinghy to buzz over to Storyteller for a glass of wine and to pick up some fresh fish from Ray's latest catch.  While at anchor, Ray caught a huge golden trevally, and kindly did not throw the fish guts overboard until after we had vacated the premises.  Since the croc had disappeared from the beach, we could only assume that he was trawling for dinner, and Ray didn't want to encourage him to the Storyteller vicinity until after we had left in our non-crocodile proof blow-up dinghy.  Storyteller closed the gate to their stern platform that night.  We didn't go ashore.  Or swim.

Picture 2 - Ray and his gigantic catch.  Excellent tasting fish.  Wonder if the croc enjoyed the guts?
