We are slowly drawing a track across the Atlantic running steadily down wind with boomed out headsails. 2,300 odd miles to go and we’re not last.
Life on board is slow, eating, sleeping and being on watch. We are not getting the Monitor wind steering to hold a steady course so using the Autohelm. That works well but is consuming a chunk of power. The solar and wind generators don’t keep up so forced to use the engine, in neutral, to recharge to batteries, until we get the wind steering work.
Yesterday we were all a bit lethargic but today back to normal, water maker set up, Derek took a sextant reading, Maggy’s making a cockpit shade. Will we catch a fish?
