Noon position 28 00N, 16 38W. Off the south of Tenerife. We are now on our way to the small island of La Gomera in 5 knots (true) wind speed and we have already seen flying fish, dolphins and nearly collided with a turtle. La Gomera is 375 kmwith a population of 23 000 people and we intend walking for three or four days sleeping out in bivvy bags. The boat is booked into  Marina La Gomera, San Sebastian for the next four nights and this marina has a very good write up in the pilot guide.
Andy Brodie arrived on Saturday night and has brought the spare parts for the water maker which we will get repaired on the 4th November back at Marina Rubicon, Lanzarote. Yesterday, we had an easy day reading the papers, which seemed a bit strange after not keeping up with the news for a few weeks, and we dined out after having a pint of John Smiths in the irish bar in San Miguel. It tasted well after six weeks of drinking euro fizz!
