CITY TOUR
Every large town all over the world has a city tour in open buses. It is an easy and convenient way to an overview of the town. Some cities are fascinating, Lima’s Downtown, the old part as it is known, is not one of them. After a 4 hours drive we have a good perception of how it looks. Apart from a few interesting historical monuments around the Main Square, and its clean and prosperous looking financial areas it has little else to offer. The incessant frenetic, noisy traffic with its constant horn blowing will send any pulse rate up.
Main Square where most historical buildings are. The Town Hall Presidential Palace
St. Francisco Church The poor are segregated to the mountains as in Rio. Their brightly painted houses seems out of character to their plight What about that for ego boosting! This is called Lovers Park. The Town mayor who had this statue made (using his features) to commemorate the fact he used to take his wife to watch the sunset over the Pacific, in Miraflores .all at the taxpayers expenses.
