This message is being sent from on board via
Iridium and mailasail.
Our position is about 50 miles due north of
Anegada.
We left Nanny Cay at 1745 on 2 June and motored out
through St George's Channel and past West Dog Island before hoisting sail around
2130.
No sooner had we done so than we were brought up
stationary with a fishing buoy, which had caught in the skeg.
Unfortunately even when cut free, the remaining line was jamming our
rudder. So I had to undertake a second working dive in two days to get it
free. (At this rate I will work through the diver training manual).
Mission successfully accomlished we had a lovely quiet night under a practically
full moon, blasting long at 7 knots for much of the time.
Tody the wind has slackened, but the famous Fleming
wind vane, hereafter referred to as Noel, I think, is working very well keeping
us steady on course.
For a while we had a hitch hiker, an Arctic or
Common Tern, not quite sure which. A bird of good omen I
hope.
Signing off
Martin
