Friday 22 June

Well it all went well, we saw some Pilot Wales, and there was a Tuna fish jumping up trying to escape from the wale ..

We both had a go at steering the boat.

We anchored up in a quiet bay for some tea and a swim .. we couldn’t swim as there were swarms of jelly fish everywhere.

We had trouble starting the outboard on the dingy, but eventually Mike managed to get it going ..  We went for a spin, which was cool.

We then set off for our night sail to Almeria. The sea was very Calm at night, the stars were really bright and clear.

Sat  23 June

We arrived at Almerimar at about 8 am  .Its really nice her. In fact we have decided to stay instead of a long sail in probable gales to Murcia so we are now enjoying Almerimar . Pete bought a new outboard for the dingy.

After dinner we sat on the beach till after midnight watching the locals celebrate St Johns day. The beach was full of bonfires and everyone ran into the sea at midnight, and there were fireworks.

Earlier we were officially signed off as competent crew, and Mike presented us with our certificates ..

Sunday 24th June

On Sunday mike had to leave because he is teaching again at home . We over slept so were really sorry not to see him go.

He has left £5.00 each for us to join the Knot association ..

Pete took us out to show us how to drive the dingy with its new motor ..  Its really difficult to start .

In the afternoon we went to the beach to chill ..  Home tomorrow ..
