Morning Guys
Todays blog, otherwise all good here on JK. been under pole out head sail
for a while so very easy sail, may go back to kite later today
cheers
On the 30th November We landed our largest catch t date a hearty Dorado of
considerable size and clearly large enough to feed the crew with a healthy
portion each.
1st December
The repair (Gorilla Tape)on our spinnaker has began to separate itself from
the sail and has had to be taken down for further attention and reinforcement.
Whilst the repairs were taking place we poled out the headsail in a "goose wing"
set up whereby the headsail was to port and the main sail is to starboard and
although a little slower than sailing under the spinnaker it allowed us to sail
further downwind and aim more directly towards our final destination and taking
the shorter distance.
Having had an mid Atlantic swim a few days ago, and using wet wipes as a
means of cleaning oneself I have decided to take a shower today - a privilege -
whereby we take sea water and wash ourselves with whatever shower gel is
available, before being allowed 1.5 litres of fresh water (a highly valued
commodity) to rinse and pour over ourselves. I eagerly await that fresh feeling,
but question whether today is the right day to take advantage of the resource
which each crew is permitted once on the voyage.
