What happened to Sunday?! Ah, we crossed the date line and skipped an entire day! Sunday 19th August 2012 did not exist for us which is quite a strange concept! We arrived in Tonga at first light this morning and have just checked in with the local tribe of customs, immigration, quarantine and health officers. Tonga hospitality is well known and needless to say we felt bad when the health officer had to ask where his cup of coffee was!
We had a good sail here - it was pretty rough with some big swell - the biggest we've had all trip (waves the height of the bimini!) but we had >20 knots all the way so it was pretty quick. It's so nice doing these small passages and then spending a long time in the next island chain. We have a week until Mike and Suse join us from Sydney which we are really looking forward to. Until then we have some boat work to do which we've been putting off so we plan to stay a couple of days in Neiafu, the main town and then find a nice anchorage and get scrubbing/polishing/varnishing and god knows what else!
