We've had a fantastic time here in the Marquesas, and the underwater treasures were quite unexpected. Nuku Hiva, where we have been for the last 4 days is actually not much bigger than the main villages on the other islands, but there are a couple of decent shops to get supplies. Still no vegetables though.
This morning we went diving with hammerheads! Finally saw the sharks that eluded us in the Galapagos and it was awesome. They are so odd looking it is impossible to be scared of them!
Last night the supply ship, the Aranui, came into port, so today the shops are full of fresh cheese and saucisson, so our fridge is full again with pate and yoghurt and all kinds of yummy things to keep us going for the next month before we get to Tahiti.
Tonight we're going to anchor in what is fondly known by cruisers as Daniel's Bay, although I'm not sure if Daniel is still alive but he used to live on the hill overlooking the bay. Tomorrow we hike to the world's 3rd highest waterfall, and then we're off!
