Ready for Sea
Moya

Friday 4 May and Moya is now in Jolly Harbour
getting ready for sea. Current position is N17.04. W61.53 - so we are a
full 11 miles nearer home than our last entry! The limited blog entries
result from major IT problems in our being able to access the nett, compounded
by hardware issues that have finally resulted in having to get Windows
re-loaded! All very frustrating when all you want to do is get the
boat ready for sea - and its very hot! We still have not got
our iridium connection sorted, so this could be the last you hear until the
Azores!
Excellent Antigua Classics - we came second in our
class, with a first and three seconds but actually achieved 3 out of 4 line
honours, logging a record speed of 9.6 knots through the water in one race
(theoretical max is 9.8) We all had a very good time and did our best to
uphold the very fine tradition of splicing the mainbrace several times
over.
All appears well with the boat, we have had a
thorough work up and plan to sail Sunday at mid day.
I guess if you are reading this you will already
have found out how to access the web diary and the email address is moya {CHANGE TO AT} mailasail {DOT} com - but don't send any
attachments or photographs, it costs a fortune to download through the satellite
and I am trying to save my credit for weather information.
Best Wishes,
Doug.
