Hi everyone. It is my turn (Steve Tubby) to be the web site author today, 1st December
The handling of the boat has
become far more routine for everyone with sails being trimmed and reefed with
ease. A glorious days sailing today with a good 15-20 knots of breeze from
the NNE, which allows us to run with a full mail and genoa.
We reached the 2000 miles point today. (That's miles left to run
to
We have put the clocks back one hour to account for the degrees of longitude west we have travelled, which caused fun for those that had brought watches in duty free and hadn't yet leaned how to tweak them.
We saw our first competitor for a couple of days this morning. We called him up. He was a very jolly chap who had caught a 45lb fish. We're sure it was the one we lost the other day!
Dave Jackson is on Galley watch today so food has been excellent, culminating with beef bourguignon. Yesterday as I was on galley duty, so had the option of a full night's sleep. However, joined the 2:00 am watch (Jacko Richard G and Brian) for the showing of the Fourth Protocol. It was quite eerie watching a mini DVD player sat in the cockpit.
Sheila will also be pleased to note that Brian has finally washed his smalls so is no longer walking round the boat like John Wayne.
Spectacular sun rise this morning.
Anyway time for me to sign off for the night. Not sure who your web author will be tomorrow.
Cheers, Steve
