This mornings reveille was a little early for me as I’d only just gone to bed at 3am, so 0730 didn’t give me a great deal of sleep Anyhow it was to discuss our days option on our sail plan for the day, and early so we could have it all set as soon as the sun comes up and we can see, rather than waiting till after breakfast, and not getting it sorted till 11am, wasting 3 hours. So we had to come up with a plan. Plan A. Drop the chute, gybe, and run with headsails and main Plan B Gybe the chute, drop the chute, and run with headsails and main Plan C drop the chute move it to the other side, gybe, raise the chute Plan D some other combination of the above but difficult to work out what we had decided as plan D. So what did we actually do None of the above. We wrap the chute around the forestay, jammed it into the headsail sheets, had some shouting. Recovered the chute from the wrap, drop the chute, moved to across the boat and put it away in the bag. How sailing with Headsails, and main |
