S/V Galatea update

We stopped at Lahewa primarily to stock up on fruit and veggies, and beer if we could find it (which we did, as we are no longer in strictly Muslim Aceh province). After paying the harbormaster fees of $40, that made for some rather expensive shopping. It wasn't much of a town - scruffy and somewhat ramshackle, much like most of the towns we encountered on the south eastern side of Indonesia a couple of years ago. But the people here continue to be very pleasant, "hey Mistering" us every step of the way, and mistaking Teague with his snappy ZZ Top-like beard for Osama Bin Laden! The anchorage was great - smooth as can be with nary a ripple in the water.
After defrosting the freezer plate a couple of nights back, fridge/freezer temps seem to be getting down to normal. Probably helped by the fact that we decided to power down our 27 pies, 36 sausage rolls and 6 kilos of chicky breasts, rather than having ti end up chucking them out.
Otherwise, all well on Galatea. We are off to Pulau Asu tomorrow - another short run. We are looking forward to eating at Mammy Silva's restaurant, supposedly tied to a surf-resort.
Cheers,
Neil, Mike and Teague
