We set off from the Falmouth Haven ( Council Marina and standard facilities but MDL Prices) at 11:25, we checked the accuracy of the depth sounder with 0.1 meters showing under the keel, may have cut that a little fine on a spring tide!

Anyway, we pottered out pulled through the reefing lines and plugged in reef 1 +2.  Looking at the weather we had hoped for a true easterly but in the Bay it was closer to SE, so having rigged the Code 0 we then promptly put it back down again. We had a moment to go and wave fairwell to our wives on the official spectator boat ( Thank-you to MC for driving them down) and like that we where in the countdown.

I should rewind a little to the Skippers briefing where I asked what happened in the case of a General Recall. The RO took it well, responding its a 1200 mile race don’t be early..... they have never had a general recall in the Race...

Well we crossed the line about 15 Seconds late so  luckily no special prizes for us. In that 15 seconds 4 boats had got across and the race was on.
