We just logged 176 nm the first 24 hours of the passage to Cape Verde. The winds have come from around 160 degrees port, between 20 and 30 knots, and we’ve also struggled with quite some swell. The Hydrovane could put up with most of it, but there had to be some hand steering during the night. Nice moonlight made the job more enjoyable, though. This day, however, is a grey and rainy one, and we have not been able to make any astro observations yet. Just dead reckoning. Feels more like the North Sea than off the African coast at the moment.
Next 24h report around noon UTC tomorrow!
