Heading for Brazil

The more attentive among our readers will notice that
from today’s position Discovery Magic’s crew appears to have now decided to head

24 hours we have had quite strong headwinds coming exactly from the direction we

apparent wind]. Thus we had to make a decision – made all the harder by the
forecast suggesting the winds will stay firmly “on the nose” for the next two or
three days. Turning south offered the prospect of slightly lighter winds, and so
we thought that if we must have wind on the nose, we might as well have less of
it! From now on we are likely to
have to zig-zag all the way to Bermuda – probably making for an 11, or even 12
day crossing after all….but we can’t complain as we have been able to hold our
