Still waiting for the weather so we took an excursion up the cable car to
sample the black cloud hanging over us....On the far side we could see nothing
but it looked rather dramatic looking towards Spain.
On Strangetrader, all the winches (6) have now all been serviced – lots of
vital looking parts toothbrushed clean and reassembled with the help of a few
photos. Then today it was the turn of the bilge pumps and all three of them now
work again after a fair amount of fiddling and cleaning and then testing by
filling up the bilges with the hosepipe and wondering where exactly all the
water was going to? Well, we weren’t paddling and as we added a bit of fairy
liquid we could see the marina fill with bubbles, so glad to know we could get
rid of it...
This morning we got up early and watched a replica of HMS Pickle
leave for Hull. She was having a send off with a naval escort. She apparently
was the ship sent back with the news that Nelson had been killed at Trafalgar
which changed the course of history.. they are taking her back to Hull and
laying wreaths at the Trafalgar and Cadiz. It looks rather basic on
board. |
