The light winds that we expected arrived today and the engine went on mid afternoon. Looking at the forecast and the weather ahead we are heading towards the Cape Verde Islands to top up the tanks before the crossing.
Some jobs undertaken today. We wanted to put some spreader patches on the mainsail to protect it where the vertical battens touch the spreader. David was keen to attempt this but after swinging wildly up the mast we brought him back down for a rethink.
