After leaving the Balearic Islands, we crossed to the mainland and went
into
a lagoon (12 miles, north to south) through this opening bridge.
![]() One of the holiday villages on the shores of the lagoon. We had a
nice English breakfast at a cafe
run by a couple from Londonderry, Ireland!
![]() Original fisherman cottages
![]() Moving down the Spanish coast on our way to Gibraltar. There was still some
snow on the Sierra Nevada.
![]() The Costa del Sol...very Gold Coast.
![]() While in Gibraltar we hired a car and drove first to Jerez to taste sherry
and see the Andalucian dancing horses.
This is the grounds of the riding school.
![]() Originally this was a royal palace.....
![]() ...which was designed by the same architect who desiged the Paris Opera
House and the Casino in Monte Carlo.
![]() The indoor arena where they hold the show.
![]() It was interesting to see the horses being trained.
Practise makes perfect...

show.
![]() ![]() After Jerez, we went to Cadiz to see flamenco dancing. This column is
in remembrance of the
first Spanish Constitution, enacted in 1812.
![]() ![]() A plaza in Cadiz, everyone out enjoying the cool of the evening, strolling,
or.....
![]() ...enjoying a drink or.....
![]() ...shopping.
![]() ![]() Decorations on the buildings....
![]() ...and on the doors.
![]() Warming up for the show. This guitarist was amazing.
![]() Two female and one male dancer put on....
![]() a one and a half hour show...
![]() ....while we ate tapas and drank sangria and sherry.
![]() ![]() ![]() A very dramatic, passionate and LOUD show which we really enjoyed.
![]() We left at midnight and went back to our hotel. In the morning we
drove back to Gibraltar to
prepare for our departure for Rabat, Morocco.
