Another beautiful day here weather wise. The wind has gone round to ENE and is much lighter. With the sea going down as well, we had a lovely sail this morning with the main away and our 2 genoas both poled out. Unfortunately the wind has gone too light now and we're struggling to keep the boat going. We don't want to use the engine this far out and use up what precious fuel we have left, so we have all the sails up - main and 2 genoas, giving just over 1,500 sq ft of sail - and are now making 4 to 5 knots. Our daily run at noon today was 159.7 miles. We then had 132 miles to go, so an arrival in the morning looked likely. With the current wind we're not so sure now, but hope it will be sometime tomorrow. With no clouds in the sky I took a sun sight using the sextant at local midday and calculated our latitude. It was within a mile of our actual latitude so I must be getting better!
