Tuesday 22nd May

Well yet again our best plans have been thwarted.

I have enclosed a few pics for the Technos amongst our Blog visitors .

Firstly the Impeller which caused so much grief on our first day out .. It looks fine but the metal bush was turning inside the rubber impellor part .. In my experience they usually just disintegrate.

Secondly the Fuel filters ..  The left one looks as though it was fitted by a chimp  .!

Finally the GPS ..  The Furrono upgrade that Sue brought out didn’t work, and neither did the one that Mike brought with him . In the end Furruno sent an Engineer from Athens who managed to download his own software and now it seems fine ..  We even have the AIS working . (a little electronic gadget that shows the position and speed of any big boats in our vicinity ..)   Wonderful ..

Now we are just waiting for the Sea Ice Engineer to come and sort the generator for the 3rd time .. !!  We have been promised for today, so fingers crossed ..

We are now fully fuelled and watered ..  and I hope we may get victualed  tomorrow and set off on Thursday .. Hans ( our former Skipper) may well be leaving at about the same time as us , so our plan is to do the first 2 or 3 hundred miles in tandem ..

Wed 23rd May

Good News …

Generator behaving well, and the GPS is all ok now …  So all being well we hope to start our epic journey tomorrow ..  Thursday …..

WISH US LUCK  ..
