What a lovely surprise Darwin has been. A friendly modern city with lots of new developments and an awesome wave pool for the kids (ok, the adults love it too!) We have been here for two days in sweltering conditions but thankfully we have got the air conditioning working. It keeps the boat down to about 35oC – can’t expect much more when the water is over 30oC! Getting into this marina was a bit of fun – entering a lock that is only 6m wide with a boat that is 5m wide plus fenders. Clearly not a lot of room as you can see. The marina is small and has the ambiance of the South of France.

Yesterday Simonne and I went to the Darwin RSL like true Aussies and had an ice cold beer and a long cool glass of water before venturing to Woolworths. The selection of fresh veggies is better than Toorak – lots of exotic fruit that we have never seen before. We are going to send a few days here before hiring a car and heading off to Kakadu or similar. It will be nice to sleep in a hotel room.

Today we have been to the wave pool. Hugo played with Annie from Miss Tippy and Juliette with Charlie. All had a great time. 292.JPG
