We set out from Morris Island around 7 a.m. and took a photo of the large croc on the beach EXACTLY where we were yesterday. Apparently they go for the small ones first so Simonne and I would have been ok.... Our destination was Seisia, just around the top of Cape York but the sailing was good, we felt fine and so continued for two more days across the Gulf of Carpentaria. The Gulf is known for treacherous conditions that change rapidly. Alas, we missed out and had two great days. The highlights were Maddie doing her first overnight watches solo (and letting us sleep more!), Maddie completing her first ever 500nm passage, lots of playful dolphins and great family time together. After I had lost 350 metres of line and a fine lure, a second lure and my patience I landed a decent sized Albacore (Tuna). He put up a good fight and Simonne and Maddie stopped the boat, pulled in sails etc so it was a good team effort.

We have been at Gove for a few hours and will leave early tomorrow for ‘hole in the wall’ and then another 280 miles or so to Port Essington. We should be in Darwin in a few days and will then be able to post some pictures.
