After having a nights sleep in L'AberWrac'H I will move on to Brest 48:23.529N 04:25.804W
The nights sleep at L'AberWrac'H solved my imaginary fuel problem as I had started to think clearly again, I'd run the fuel down well below the 1/2 mark before and still had plenty of fuel left.
I awoke at 0615 ready to catch the tide and wind to Brest. I left my mooring and motored out to the sea, where I picked up the fast train, still using only the genoa for sail power. The boat was cantering along, the sun was shining, I was warm and everything in the garden was lovely. For the first time in the last two days I saw other boats, I didn't see any around St Helier on Thursday, which makes me think I should have stayed there? I saw lots of fishing boats, a couple of biggish power boats and one sailing boat. I followed the course between the "Ile De Ouessant" and all the associated lumps of rock and the mainland. Couldn't help but notice that in places the water was only 2m at chart datum. Regardless I cut every corner I believed I could.
Once I arrived at the "Avant-Goulet De Brest" lots of small local boats started to appear and became more and more as I neared the marina.
Finally arrived at the marina at 1700 my time, of course, eveyone had gone home since it was 1900 French time, so I found me a spot a settled down for the night. Next day, Sunday, I expected France to be closed but I managed to get myself shore power and water and internet so I was now back in my own comfort zone. The fuel had lasted no problem, in fact the tank still reads1/2 full after I had added my emergency 10litres. Tomorrow I'll sort the rest of me out and try to workout how todisentangle the main halyard.
