We have had a tough and particually challenging 9 days. After a good rest at cp1 we left on a slightly windy morning. we had fuel and food for 11 days, so are paulks were very heavy.
We had a steady couple of days and then got hit by a storm. We tried to move out and managed 2nm before we had to stop and make camp again in now 40knot winds. It was hugley challenging to put up the tent when the wind was flattening it. The wind kept us pinned in for two days and then the storm passed. There was serious milage to to to put us back on track.
Each day we increasced are distances as we got stronger and stronger and the pulks considerably lighter. On the final day we skied 17.9 nm (as the crow flies) so probably further in reality and arrived first into CP2 at 6.50pm. It was wonderfull to see all the support team, and have a hot drink made for us. The internationals arrived after a long hard slog at midnight.
Thanks for all your comments they really keep me going - much appriciated. The updates are more speradic now as the tough book has run flat and won't charge in thease severe conditions. Its 90nm to the next check point hopefully it will be easyer than this one!!
