Albufeira- Porto Santo Day 3
Position 34’ 10 N, 14’ 20 W 1100hrs So yesterday was lovely, blue skies, lots of sun,
calm seas! We were accompanied by 4 homing pigeons hitching a lift for about 3
hours, they and dolphins are the extent of our wildlife encounters in the last
24 hours. Early last night we were greeted by lots of phosphorescence,
or sea sparkles as some have taken to calling them (Roisin?!) Last night was a little bit more challenging with the
winds and seas picking up. While on watch at about 0345 this morning the Dream
Team reefed the main just as the winds increased – great call! We have
been on a broad reach now for almost all the trip – how good is that??? Entertainment
last night included an episode of Modern Families – how apt! Currently we have 117nms’ to go and are running
at a steady 7kts. At that rate we will be entering harbour 2.5 hrs before dawn
tomorrow so the Skipper may choose to slow down to enter in daylight….!
Feels like its going to be another fast day today with white caps starting to
appear. SY Wizard |
