Hello All

Progress steady but slow the problem are these westerlies which are weak and continually changing from 12 knots suddenly up to 25 knots then back again to 9 knots. Once past the bay things should settle down to a more stable rate hopefully from behind me. Still looking at some download forecasts today if I hadn’t left Brixham when I did I would probably still be there.

A few pics, now the story of the fray bentos, requires further explanation. The thing is they need a robust opener not one of these flimsy plastic things you get today as they have a deep set rim and those plastic things of today don’t work (I realise now) in fact its broken now with me trying to force it. I was at a point going into a bit of a panic as I had set myself on the idea of a fray bentos pie and I could see this slipping away from me. Then I remembered my army penknife which came to the rescue and little by little working around the rim with the claw hook I got it opened. The pie was no match for my army penknife and believe me it was a relief because I waned that pie.

The other pic is me getting ready for my night shift where I sit out in the cockpit and it gets pretty chilly so I have about 6 layers on with my immersion suit over everything then just sit there. Strangely the time passes quite quickly and I doze off every now and then and every 20 mins or so cast my eye over the entire horizon looking for shipping. Last night it was particularly dark and I was mesmerised by the bioluminescence. This is an amazing thing to watch it is like watching little explosions of colour under the water which are continuous and of varying size and intensity its an amazing thing to watch until that is I started seeing faces in the shapes then I stopped for a while.

Final pic is me about 2 hours ago…..I note wearing the same clothes as yesterday and the day before and the day before…...
