Siste døgnet har vi seilt 152 mil og har igjen 162.
Vi regner med å være i Horta i morgen ettermiddag.
Vi motorseilte i 25 timer til kl.0645 idag. Så fikk
vi fin vind som gjør at vi nå holder 6,5 knop i snitt.
Kokken hadde bakedag i går igjen. Det ble 4 brød og
de er veldig gode. Så nå er det "rasjonering" på antall skiver.
Middag i går var Marit's lasagne fra fryseren. Det
går veldig dårlig med fiskefangst. Ikke et napp har vi hatt. Har nå skiftet
sluk.
Kan ha noe med at det er mye manneter i sjøen. Vi
har ellers hyggelig selskap av delfiner flere ganger på dagen, og de har også
besøkt oss
om natten. Vi har fortsatt greit med vann og litt
diesel igjen. Vi kan fortsatt kjøre noen timer motor om det skulle bli
nødvendig. Men håper at vinden
holder seg helt frem nå.
Mayflowe og Mayflower 2 ligger og venter på
oss. Det kommer nok til å bli ankerdram og hjertelig gjensyn!!

ETA Horta 15.05 17.00 JMT.After motorsailing for 25 hours, we had wind 9-12
knots ESE from 0645 this morning, allowing us to make 6-7 knots in the correct
direction. The Chef has got the hang of baking and produced 4 bread yesterday.
They taste so wonderful, that he's got to ration the slices.Yesterday's dinner
was Marit's delicious lasagne from the fridge. The fishing line hasn't yielded
anything but seaweed so far, so John, who is the keenest fisherman, just changed
the lure. He reckons all the Portuguese Man-of-wars might scare the fish. On the
other hand, we've enjoyed the pleasanr company of 10 or so dolphins the
last days and nights. In fact, their fluorescent wake makes it easier
to observe them as they approach the yacht at night. The first time we
observed this, it was quite scary, their fast wake coming at right angle to the
transom, resembling the compressed air trail following torpedos. We still
have ample supplies of water and diesel, allowing us to motor for approx.another
24 hours, but of course we hope the wind will persist all the way to
Horta. "Mayflower" and "Mayflower 2" are waiting for us in Horta. We look
forward to a hearty reception with enough anchor drams to mimick a
stagnight.
