Subject: 28TH JUNE Helen finally got a good days sailing in a blustery
force 5/6 across Weymouth Bay to Lulworth Cove.
We staid on the boat over night and although the
wind force had dropped there was still a little swell in the cove due to the
earlier westerly wind. the cove is calmer in an easterly or north wind. Helen
did not sleep as well as she had hoped but enjoyed her first real sail as
opposed to last year when we drifted a lot or motored due to light
winds.
The self steering gear has been repaired but is
still requiring a re-design which I hope to complete this year in August ready
for the next Jester Challenge whatever that might be. but definitely a trip
across the Atlantic in 2010.
