Elio, the ovner of the ship yard, Porto Vecchio Service, vanted us to arrive Friday 6th of June, to lift the boat.
So we were here, anchored Thursday 5th of June outside the new Porto di Crotone next to the ship yard.
Friday morning we got a mail from Elio, his staff have got a virus so nobody was working. Saturday we got a new mail, ”I have some troubles” but go to the marina and I will pay for two nights, as a present for you.
We stayed in the marina for 11 days!
Finally the 18th of June they lifted the boat!!,
Nothing happens, they are very busy with other boats. On the 24th of June they started to work on the boat.
We are not too happy!!
It’s so hot, 40 degrees, and we have very little water on the boat. It’s 38 degrees in our cabin during nights. Fred sleeps in cockpit together with the mosquitos! I try to survieve in the cabin.
But Crotone life have started for us. And we are getting used to Elio and the staff. They are all very friendly and helpful, but no English, exept for Elio.
We have found some nice places to eat, and we try to eat out as much as we can, not too much healthy food!!
RosAntonellas pizza, Salumeria del Porto, Mamma Mia, Bon Apetito, thank you!! You made us survive on busy days!!
Now the staff are working with the boat, Mimo is “the ballerina of painting” He is so skilled and proud of what he is doing. And he is good!!
Now things start to happen! Sanding primer, primer and then painting, Midnight Blue, Vivid Red, Cloud White!
When painting the blue, they did it on a quite windy day, so they even "painted" the catamaran next to us. They were not happy!?
We, Fred and I, take care of the stainles steel rail, the anchor, the ladder and stainles steel outlets in the back of the boat. Everything has to shine, orders from Mimo!! When the hull is shinning these things also have to shine! So right Mimo!!
So finally on Thursday 31th of July, we are in the water again. We are at anchor outside the marina, Monday we will leave for Syracusa Sicily, a night sail 158 Nm, with northerly winds!
We have, again, a beautiful boat. thanks to Elio and his staff, they did a very good job!
And thanks to Elio, a very friendly, helpful and a skilled crain “manager”!

2 x 13,4 m to polish and a lot of screws to dismount and then mount.

Salumeria del Porto. A lunch bread factory. A lot of well tasting mortadella is consumed.
