With the sudden and very welcome arrival of Alfie
in Las Palmas Marina, PW is now fully crewed with all two of us for an
Atlantic crossing. Alfie managed to get from 'good idea why not' to here
on board in 2 days flat - a credit to his Naval past. He has managed to
squeeze himself into one of the quarter berths without any complaint despite his
long sea legs.
Yet another trip to the supermarket filled the few
remaing holes on board, and we are now almost ready. After two months here
and a great deal of work refitting Pinball Wizard it will be really good to be
out on the ocean again and heading SSW towards Cape Verde Islands. We are
both looking forward to it. The last item to be installed was the satphone
- requiring 5 days of fiddling around on the computer before all
its functions could be utilised, which include voice, email, SMS, weather
downloads and this brand new blog!
