After spending the day exploring the small island of Marittimo off the west coast of Sicily we weighed anchor at dusk for a night passage towards our next destination of Volcano, (revised from Stromboli due to time and distance considerations)

Lunch turned into a big event. Norm and Jude , Hywel, Nick and Dek, Jack and Penny and me photographed by Sophie.

I tried the tuna tasting plate. Tuna in every variety possible. Excellent pasta vongoli of course too.

The walking party headed off by boat to an old Saracen/Norman/Spanish/ Bourbon fort and a vertigo inducing hot walk home.

Scalo Vechio and Scala Nuevo on Marittimo. A charming and out of the way sort of place.
