Trinidad

Trinidad arrival was 16th March on day 26 and 3059 miles from Ascension Island, our longest passage of this whole circumnavigation. We are in Trinidad for a new main sail having decided our 11 year old one has probably reached the end of its life since it had a small rip en route.

We have also hauled G2 out of the water and onto the hard to get all those over-friendly barnacles off the bottom of the boat and slosh on the anti-fouling paint, well not us exactly but Chris has been polishing the top sides! We have been in the marina hotel for a couple of nights whilst all that is being done to get more R&R; it’s not that different to the boat having an en suite and small kitchen rather like a galley but the room doesn’t sway and roll which is nice for a change.

The haulers gave G2 a very thorough clean off as she came out of the water, the barnacles knew their days were numbered

The end of a long day.

We are so looking forward to Grenada where we complete our 6 year loop and can say that we have sailed around the world but that will have to wait just a little longer.
