Trinidad
Trinidad arrival was 16th March on day 26 and
3059 miles from Ascension Island, our longest passage of this whole
circumnavigation. We are in Trinidad for a new main sail having decided our 11
year old one has probably reached the end of its life since it had a small rip
en route.
The sail loft
One of our sail makers at work on the new sail We have also hauled G2 out of the water and
onto the hard to get all those over-friendly barnacles off the bottom of the
boat and slosh on the anti-fouling paint, well not us exactly but Chris has been
polishing the top sides! We have been in the marina hotel for a couple of nights
whilst all that is being done to get more R&R; it’s not that different to
the boat having an en suite and small kitchen rather like a galley but the room
doesn’t sway and roll which is nice for a change.
The haulers gave G2 a very thorough clean off as
she came out of the water, the barnacles knew their days were
numbered
The end of a long day.
We are so looking forward to
Grenada where we complete our 6 year loop and can say that we have sailed around
the world but that will have to wait just a little longer.
