There is a good chance that this is the first ocean crossing for this
Joseph Conrad. Built 98 years ago as a steel riveted, cargo carrying schooner
for the shallow waters around Holland and the neighbouring countries. Shallow
draught with a full, rounded hull and an almost non existent keel. Not the best
attributes for a 30 metre ocean going schooner with an additional 7 metres of
bowsprit. I should imagine her main work was as a coastal trader and now she’s
about to arrive at Barbados. Well done
