It is a beautiful sunny morning and we finally have the sails out after running on the engine
for the past 22 hours.
We cast off from Hamilton around 10:00 to motor
about two hours over to St. Georges where we cleared customs at 12:15 and headed
almost back to where we came from but about five miles further off shore on the
outer side the reefs that surround Bermuda before setting a course west
north west.
Our course is northwest at 300. The wind is
on our port beam at 20 kts and we are doing between 8 and 9 kts of
speed. We will continue to move west for most of the day, but expect
headwinds to force a course change by night fall.
All are well and the adventure is truely
incredible. Over five hundred miles from the continent, the sky last night
was like nothing I have ever seen. Sleeping; well that is a different story,
that is going to take either some getting used to or pure exhaustion.
We will check in as we can,
George
