Socotra Island, 06:00 UTC: We’ve finally turned the corner, leaving the Gulf of Aden for the Arabian Sea and are now on a direct route South to Mahé, Seychelles, our next and last waypoint 1,000 miles away. The wind remains NE F5-6 which is kicking up quite a sea, but with the wind aft of the beam it’s much more comfortable (not to mention much drier). We’re currently storming along at nearly 9 knots but expect this to drop as we head south. ETA Victoria, Mahé, in seven days time.
