Fred got straight into the fishing a caught aa number of delicious fish (Jack, Snapper and even a Barracuda which got thrown back as too big - risk of Ciguatera). We toured round Virgin Gorda to Saba Rock, Statia Island (private but stayed on the beach) Virgin Sound and the Bitter end - really nice place - and then on up north to Anegada which is basically a reef but inhabited with hotels and and small village (The Settlement)
Back down south to take in Marina Cay another hotel island with a lovely Rum Punch Bar (Pussers) and old english telephone on the dock.
Bumped into Pink Gin a beautiful dream sailing yacht (not literally but we crossed paths a few times and shared the last night at the Baths)
The Baths were the best beach spot with massive polished boulders which you walk under and around with water gushing in - a magic place to finish off our BVI tour
Pulled anchor in the afternoon for a night run back to St Martin - the sea was flat calm with no headwind - a great relief as we were expecting to fight every wave back for the 80 or so miles.
The motors purred along at cruising speed charging the batteries and making water.
Pink Gin overtook us at 9 knots also under motor heading for St Barths.
Arrived on Sat morning 2 March in time to see the Heiniken Week race start to Marigot Bay. About 200 yachts taking part in a mad flurry to reach the starting line!
