From Jan 6th-20th an excellent cruise down through SVG to Union Island
and a few painkillers.....I asked a French yottie what the French for
painkiller is...thinking douleur mort..he looked at me quizzically and
said in his best franglais accent...painkiller. It was funny at the
time. The winds were sublime, the interisland passages fast, averaging
8+ knots, and exilerating and minmal rain showers. Lobster dinners at
the Cays have rocketed to $EC150/head but its a bit of a captive
clientele and you only live once, loads of turtles to swim and excellent
snorkelling north of the turtle area.
Back to Rodney Bay for crew change and some routine maintenance and make
do and mending. Polished the topsides properly with the electric
polisher and she's come up as good as new....apart from the marks of
previous encounters with pontoons, logs and the occasional reef that she
wears as badges of honour and usage!
