We started the day by stacking the belongings we wanted to bring with us around the boat. By midday it was hard to see the hull, such was the profusion of bags and boxes. It would have been hard to say which had the greater displacement: Summer Song or our stuff. By close of play you'd expect us to have sorted things; notca bit of it. The heap outside had simply moved inside.
Meanwhile, I had connected up tte solar panels which on a cloudy day in Devon produce a whole 0.6 amps if current. Thus enough to run a (one) light or some very quiet music - jazz or Coldplay only. On the other hand I'd ripped out the old alternator to replace with one that doesn't quite fit, thus making sure that there's nothing to reliably charge the batteries. Apart from the Devon sun. Genius.
Anyway, orf to bed after a good supper at the Steam Packet with Team Springmead, who are now sadly gone. This means we're finally fending for ourselves (on dry land) after weeks of crucial and indefatigable help from Mamma and Pappa. Without them we would not be on the cusp of an extraordinary adventure, so thank you thank you thank you!
We finally see some water tomorrow. Better get a good night's rest...
