4th July:

So after a relaxing and grabbing a sleep,  we awoke at 03:00 and pushed out of the bay at 03:30.  The Richard and Mike were sleeping on the deck when I awoke,  they both helped raise the anchor and once we were away from the hazards of the nay and no extra lookout was required Mike slept and Richard took the first watch (until 07:30).

The wind was not very strong and we had a lot of miles to cover so we used the engine for most of the way at ‘Table Speed’ and burnt all the fuel reserves.  We arrived in Rovinj at around 18:30, fueled the boat and then headed for the marina.

Table Speed – Can be either full throttle or idle:

The first evening in Rovinj we had a few Gin and Tonics as it was Mike and Richards last night on the boat,  I and  Richard headed for the old town square where there was a live salsa band and dancing in the street.  I danced with one girl, we took in the sights, met with my friend Rob and his friends who had traveled from Prague to the Salsa festival,  then we grabbed an early night as we were tired from the trip.

5th July:

Mike and Richard woke me to say goodbye, Mike was heading for Barcelona and Richard to Vienna and then Prague.   We waved goodbye and I was a little sad as we had shared many good times together.

I checked into the Salsa Festival, collected my pass and went to five workshops with a 20 minute lunch break,  it was fantastic.  There was a party a nearby hotel in the evening and then I retired to the boat.

Some of the workshops:

My favorite teacher (U-tribe),  she was teaching Rumba and a Body Movement Class:

I went to three more dance workshops (Salsa Mens Styling, Body Movement and Bachata) then the biggest highlight was the pool party which was 7 hours of non stop fun at a hotel on a small Island Called St. Andrea. There was a boat laid on to take everybody there and when I arrived the party was already kicking.  There was a party in the evening, but I did not stay so long as I was tired.

Rob and family/friends,  the transport to the pool party is in the background:

It is now 7th July and I am making plans to leave.  There was a storm last night so I am also checking the weather.  The plan is to head to the Island of Uglijan which is near Zadar over the next 2-3 days.
