Today it was Harry's birthday,so we decided to do something exciting.

At 10 o'clock we decided to climb Gibraltar rock (Gibraltar rock is famous

for it's wild monkeys). We took a taxi to Michael's cabin, a cave in Gibraltar Rock.

The cave wowed us with it's stalactites and stalagmites! (the cave was created by rainwater slowly slipping through

the limestone rock, turning into a weak carbonic acid which dissolves into the rock, leaving the rainwater with no minerals, as the minerals will have turned into stone.)

After the walk through the cave we walked on to see the monkeys when we did see them

we took loads of photos of them. As we carried on walking to the top of the rock Harry spotted a lizard, as we all looked at the poor lizard it ran away on it's four legs. The next thing we came to was a world war 2 sight,

in this sight there was a cannon's stand and soldiers shelters/homes these buildings were under ground and were very wet and damp we wondered if they kept prisoners in there as the place looked a lot like one. After walking further

up the rock we came to Gibraltar's well known siege tunnels where the people of Gibraltar would hide if there was a siege. A siege is when one country comes into another country and imprisons the countries people, Gibraltar has

had lots of sieges as the country has been wanted by Spain the longest siege lasted 3 years 7 months and 12 days!

After visiting these tunnels we decided that we should go into town and get lunch as we all were hungry,

as a treat we went to pizza express. I had a margarita pizza, dough balls and ice cream.

I thought today was a great day!
