In the river valley below Machu Picchu

Aqua Caliente Means hot water, as there are hot water springs in this little town alongside the Urubamba at the base of Machu Picchu. It had a wild west feel about it with the train tracks running down the narrow street, so we could almost touch the train roof as it passed our first floor restaurant. The proters had preceded us on the 5.30am train back to Cusco. This was not the only time we watched farmers and oxen working the fields.
