Jungle things

Looking at the first pic/map we travelled by canoe from Coca, a third the way along to the Panacocha River to meet the Manatee, did some of the route by day in the Manatee and the Amazon Loge we visited is up the Panacocha River. This marked the furthest point we travelled along the Napo.

The flush water in our loo was directly from the muddy river! 135 and 140 show the plant from which Panama hats are made, the second pic is after Raoul flicked the stem vigorously to open it out.

145 is the tiny leaf frog, so well camouflaged the camera couldn't focus on it, well that's my excuse. In answer to questions like did you see an anaconda, a manatee, piranha fish and a pink dolphin, "yep" but they were made of wood. A local artist created them so when visitors arrived and found these shy animals were hiding they could at least see what they looked like with these life size models.

Night descends on our return canoe trip.
